TEAM TOURNAMENTS ROUNDS

The rounds are determined following the latest tournament rules, i.e.:
Swiss pairing system with randomisation of opposing team within the same victory point.
A Team cannot play against the same Team twice during the tournament’s rounds.
Round 1’s pairing are determined with a draw at the beginning of the tourney.

TOURNAMENT TEAM RANKING

- The points are calculated for each team member with victory points & margin of victory as usual during the group phase.

- Then each Team adds these 3 results (victory points and margin of victory) for its three players and the Team final result is obtained for this round. Either 3-0 or 2-1.

- We then add to this result an additional bonus point to the winning TEAM, obtaining a final score of either 4-0 or 3-1.
Sample output of a round:
TEAM A: 4 (1200) vs TEAM B: 0 (0)
TEAM C: 3 (344) vs TEAM D: 1 (256)
TEAM E: 3 (254) vs TEAM F: 1 (346)
...
- We then add together the team’s cumulated victory points and margin of victory over the different rounds.

- Byes are accounted for as follows: 3 victories for the team, without the team bonus, and a margin of victory of 900: 3 (900)

- At the end of round 4, teams will be ranked first according to their victory points, second according to the number of team bonus (team victories) and finally according to their margin of victory
For instance, Team C wins their 4 rounds 3-1. This team will therefore have a final score of Victory Points 12, Team Points 4, Margin of Victory 1543.
Team A however obtained the following results: 4-0, 4-0, 3-1, 1-3. Team A’s final score is therefore VP12, TP 3, MOV 1865.
Hence, even if Team A’s MOV is higher, Team C will be ranked above Team A because it won all 4 of its rounds with the team bonus.

- Template team scoring sheet will be provided during the tournament to facilitate the counting of points.

SEEDING TOURNAMENT INDIVIDUAL MATCH

- The procedure for pairing between players of two opposing teams during a round is as follows:

The captains of the two teams look at the other team's opposing squadrons.
For each round, initiative is determined by tossing a coin. The team that won the bet decides whether they take the initiative or not.
The captain of the team with the initiative (TEAM A in the example) offers its first list: TEAM A LIST 1
The captain of the other team (TEAM B in the example) selects the list which faces TEAM A LIST 1.
Game 1: TEAM A LIST 1 vs TEAM B LIST 1
The captain of that same team (TEAM B in the example) also provides in turn a 2nd list: TEAM B LIST 2
The captain of team A then selects one of its two remaining lists to face TEAM B LIST 2.
Game 2: TEAM A LIST 2 vs TEAM B LIST 2
The last match finally opposes the last 2 lists:
Game 3: TEAM A LIST 3 vs TEAM B LIST 3

- The procedure is not complicated since there are only 3 lists per team, BUT:
It is essential to respect the initiative of the Team.
As you see the initiative has not only advantages but still allows the players to decide which team members takes a risk and then determine what the pairing of the two last matches is. This is an important tactical choice.
Seeding individual matches must be arranged between captain quickly before games, 5-10 min maximum will be allocated for this purpose.

- All team’s squad lists will be made available a few days before the event so that teams can elaborate their tactic.
