Age of Sigmar Highlander - Information and Rules

Highlander tournament Leuven

Introduction:
As most tournaments just are the plain old 2000 pts 1vs1, we, The Gaming Lords Leuven. thought why not change the format a little, stir things up and force people out of there comfort zone. So we decided on the Highlander format for this event. Since the community is small as it is, to not exclude anyone from participating (not everyone has every unit in his collection to choose from), we have decided on a 1000 pts tournament.
As we often see new players at our events and this format is especially welcoming to new players, we will give 2h30 for each game which is a little longer then the recommended time.
The spirit for the Highlander format is simple: “There can be only one.”

Armylist

We follow the rules for matched play as presented in the latest Generals Handbook
1000 pts vanguard with the following exceptions:
-Every warscroll can be used only once.
-You can bring 2 units of the same battleline if it is necessary to obtain battleline requirements (so if you only have one battleline option, you can bring 2 of the same).
-Minimum sized units only.
-No unit can be more then 400 pts (so 400 max)
-Change the number of slots for behemoths and Artillery to 1.
-Artifact, traits and chosen spells should be indicated on your roster. You cannot chose the same spell/prayer more then once.
-Correct (round) base sizes are required.
-Realms, artifacts and spells (as presented in malign sorcery and the CB) will be in effect and will be added to the battleplans section so that you know in advance what you will be up against.
-We have some leniency toward WYSIWYG, but it should at all times be clear what is what and all models should be able to represent clearly the model it should be and should be the same size and height then the original model. In doubt of a proxy, contact us before the tournament.
-FAQ, Errata, warscrolls and battletomes published after 27/10/2019 will not be allowed/used.

Houserules
These houserules are subject to change depending on what we get in the GHB 2019.
For this event summoning is limited by the following rules:
-You can summon maximum 1x the same warscroll in the course of 1 game.
-Minimum sized units (GHB pitched battle profiles) is the max allowed size for summoning.

-Musicians, banners and all similar upgrades that are not already limited by the rules are limited to one per 10 models. The only exception are warscrolls that indicate a limitation themselves. There we follow the limitation on the warscroll.

-A dice cocked to any extend has to be re-rolled

-Placing drinks on the gaming tables/mats will be penalized with a -10VP penalty without warning as these are expensive and we cannot wash them.

-Unsporting behaviour will be penalized by our judges as they see fit. In any matter, our judges will have the last word.

Battlefield
-Tables will be 4'x4'
- Terrain for the tables will be provided and set-up by the tournament organizers.
-All scenery will have predetermined rules from the scenery tables in the GHB 2019. Except for scenery pieces in the pitched battle scenery table that have a warscroll. There we will use the released warscrolls of the scenery piece in question. There will be indicated what is what on the scenery pieces themselves.
-Players are not allowed to move scenery.
-We will not be using rules for garrisoning buildings.
-If a scenery piece contains rubble, pieces of wall, trees etc that are 2” or higher, then this rubble, pieces of wall, trees etc are also considered to be obstacles as described in the core book.
-scenery without a base (walls, fences, rubble) is always considered as an obstacle in addition to any other rules it has.

Prize Support
There will be prize support for the following categories:
1st place in pts (Depending on attendance there might also be a prize for second and maybe third place)

Slaughterer Award
Slaughterer Award
Each completely destroyed enemy unit will obtain you a number of slaughter points equal to there pts cost. This includes summoned units. The player with the highest amount of slaughter pts accumulated during the tournament will win the Slaughterer Award.

Oracle Award
At the start of each round each player will not on his score sheet who will win in each match on every table. The player predicting the most victories at the end of the day wins our oracle award.

Fairest player award
We put high value in sportsmanship. We know this is highly subjective, but after your third battle you will be asked to vote for the player against who you enjoyed your game the most. Each vote will obtain you 5 fair play pts. Then we add the etiquette pts a player received from his opponent. The player with the most fair play and etiquette pts wins the fairest player award. Should a tie arrive we let those players decide among themselves who wins as they are the masters of fair play.
