Massacre in the Mortal Realms - Information and Rules

Massacre in the Mortal realms

Introduction:
In the meantime it has become an annual tradition for us Gaming Lords, to host a tournament some 6-8 weeks after the release of a new General's handbook or new edition of the game. Giving everyone time to adapt his army and put there new theories to the brutal test of combat. We play these tournaments with a lot of active optional rules to experience the current edition at its fullest.

So when the carrier raven brought us notice of this new release, immediately we sounded the horns and called out for anyone willing to pick up the challenge to come and lay waste to (or protect) the Mortal Realms!

We ask people that play with a large number of models to provide movement trays etc to be able to finish there turns and setup within these periods out of respect for there opponent.

The first round you will play against a randomly selected opponent. From then on we will use the swiss system to determine further opponents.

Armylist
- Armylists should be in sent in Warscroll builder format. Please check the pts costs to see if they are updated correctly.
-We will be following the rules for matched play and pitched battles as presented in the Generals Handbook 2019:
-2000 pts Battlehost
-Each players must pick 6 Hidden agendas for his or her army and record them on there army roster. These should be added in the notes and numbered 1 to 6.
-general, allegiance, allegiance specifications (Like a chamber, enclave, etc) traits, artifacts, and spells, prayers and anything else that is optional should be indicated on your army roster and cannot change in the course of the tournament. So you play the same list each game.
-FW is allowed
-Allies and published mercenary companies are allowed.
-Musicians, banners and all similar upgrades that are not already limited by the rules are limited to one per 10 models. The only exceptions are warscrolls that indicate a limitation themselves. There we follow the limitation on the warscroll.
-Correct base sizes are required. The correct base sizes are the advised ones that can be found on the GW website. We allow the use of old square bases, but if a square base should fit in its entirety on the correct round or oval base, we ask you to (temporarily) fix the model on a correct sized round or oval base. (These can be easily made out of cardboard).
- If we suspect basing for rule purposes or when failing to comply to the above, you will be asked to remove the models in question. They will count as casualties for any rules purposes. When in doubt, please contact us before the tournament starts.
-Upgrades like endless spells from expansions like malign sorcery and forbidden powers can be added to your army for there appropriate cost.
-Players will get access to the realm spells from Malign sorcery when in that realm.
- Players will have access to the realm artifacts from Malign sorcery but must have the appropriate home realm
-We have some leniency toward WYSIWYG, but it should at all times be clear what is what and all models should be able to represent clearly the model it should be and should be the same size and height then the original model. In doubt of a proxy, contact us before the tournament.
-Battletomes, expansions and updates published after 4/8/2019 will not be allowed/used. With the only exception of the following:
-Should a FAQ/errata drop after the deadline, players will be given 48h to adapt there lists as these are made to create a better and more balanced gaming experience and are usually there to fix things that are going awfully wrong.

Battlefield
-Tables will be 6'x4'
- Terrain for the tables will be provided and set-up by the tournament organizers.
-All scenery will have predetermined rules from the scenery tables in the GHB 2019. Except for scenery pieces in the pitched battle scenery table that have a warscroll. There we will use the released warscrolls of the scenery piece in question. There will be indicated what is what on the scenery pieces themselves.
-Players are not allowed to move scenery.
-We will not be using rules for garrisoning buildings.
-If a scenery piece contains rubble, pieces of wall, trees etc that are 2” or higher, then this rubble, pieces of wall, trees etc are also considered to be obstacles as described in the core book.
-scenery without a base (walls, fences, rubble) is always considered as an obstacle in addition to any other rules it has.

House Rules

We expect players to follow the Warhammer Age of Sigmar player's code. (GHB 2019 p 5)

A dice cocked to any extend has to be re-rolled.

Line of sight is measured as true line of sight, as this often leads to discussion, we recommend using a laser pointer. If your laser pointer can hit the target from the firing model, you can see it and vice versa. The judges using there own laser pointer have the final word in these matters in case this would not solve the issue.

Placing drinks on the gaming mats/table will obtain you a sanction of -10VP by our judges without warning. As these are expensive and we have no way to clean them. Repeated infractions on this might cause you to be banned from the tournament.

Prize Support
There will be prize support for the following categories:
1st place in pts (Depending on attendance there might also be a prize for second and third place)
Best painted army. (voted by our judges, store keeper and non participating members)
Slaughterer award
Fairest player award.

Tie breakers will be:
1. Painted pts
2. Etiquette pts + Fairest Player pts
3. Slaughter pts.

Prize support will be depending on how many competitors we have.

Slaughterer Award
Each completely destroyed enemy unit will obtain you a number of slaughter points equal to there pts cost. This includes summoned units. The player with the highest amount of slaughter pts accumulated during the tournament will win the Slaughterer Award.

Fairest player award
We put high value in sportsmanship. We know this is highly subjective, but after your third battle you will be asked to vote for the player against who you enjoyed your game the most. Each vote will obtain you 5 fair play pts. Then we add the etiquette pts a player received from his opponent. The player with the most fair play and etiquette pts wins the fairest player award. Should a tie arrive we let those players decide among themselves who wins as they are the masters of fair play.
