1.0 Requirements:
Your team needs to bring along all materials needed to play Warhammer Fantasy Battles. We recommend that you bring along the following:
• The Warhammer Fantasy Core Rulebook and the appropriate army book(s) for your armies.
• Templates, dice and tape measures.
• 2 printed copies of your army rosters (1 for the judges and 1 for your own use).
• 2 objective markers mounted on either a 40 mm square or round base.

2.0 Tournament rules & restrictions:
• Armies must follow all rules and restrictions from their own Warhammer army book.
• Only the armies listed below can be used at the tournament.
• Weapons, armor and upgrades chosen from the army book must be represented on the model (magic items, scavenge pile items or vampire powers do not have to be represented).
• The scenery on the tables has been set up by the judges at the start of the day and may not be moved by any means other than the tree singing spell.
• No named or special characters may be used. This includes named unit champions.
• The organization is allowed to change the contents of this rulepack if necessary until at least 2 weeks before the date of the tournament.
• Since it is a team tournament, all characters and war machines in the team are deployed simultaneously.
• Instead of deploying one unit at a time, both members of the team deploy a unit from their army each time. If one player runs out of units, the other player deploys 2 units at a time until everything is deployed.

2.1 Army rules & restrictions:
• No more than 750 points may be spent per army (1500 per team).
• All the normal restrictions and rules listed in the army books for 750 point armies count. There are however some extra rules.
• For the purpose of magic items, the team counts as one army. This means that a magic item can only be taken once per team. This also counts for dwarf runes.
• A maximum of 1 battle standard bearer may be chosen per team, but he will act as the battle standard bearer for BOTH armies of the team. Generals act as normal for their army only.
• An army may use up to three character slots, but no more than 4 character slots may be used per team. Bretonnian armies still receive an additional character slot as usual, if however, two bretonnian armies are in the same team, they will not be allowed to take more than 1 battle standard bearer per team or more than 5 characters.
• An army may only contain a single rare unit and 1 special unit or no rare unit and two special units.
• No double rare units and/or triple special units may be taken in a team.
• High elf armies need a minimum of 1 core unit as normal, and may also use an extra special and rare unit. However, if two high elf army’s are in one team, they are only allowed one extra special and rare unit for the team.
• No more than 6 magic levels may be included per team. This includes both casting characters and casting units. Tomb king Liche Priests count as having 2 magic levels while normal characters with bound spells (such as tomb kings or characters with magic items) do not count towards the max no. of magic levels.
• Dogs of War can be taken as a separate army, also, one unit of dogs of war or regiment of renown can be hired per team. Dogs of war units that take up more than one slot may not be included.
• There may be no more than 1 mount on monster base or bigger taken per army
(this refers only to monsters ridden by characters and includes plague furnaces).
• In the absence of an official Skaven F.A.Q. the following additions to the Skaven rules will be in effect at this tournament: The Stormbanner and Warpstone Tokens are One Use Only magic items. Items from the Scavenge Pile may only be taken once per character.
• Magic Special Rules: Both players share a single power and dispel dice pool. This means that one team gets 2 main power dice or 2 main dispel dice at the start of each magic phase instead of 4. Additionally, a dwarf army adds 1 extra dispel dice to the main pool during the enemy phase instead of 2.

4.0 Army Roster:
The army roster must:
• Include your name and team entry number.
• Adhere to all criteria listed in this rules- pack.
• Be typed, clear and readable
• Mention if the army was not painted and built by yourself (for the purpose of the best army award)
• Contain all information required for play and reference such as point cost of models, options, equipment, magic items, etc.

During the warm up period, both teams may agree to swap army rosters, but you are not required to do so. Only swap rosters if both teams agree to it.
Although you are not required to swap rosters before the game begins, you MUST, if your opponents request so, show your roster after the game. Doing so is highly recommended by the judges as we have had previous situations in which players have used different items and upgrades in-game than listed in their army rosters. This is something the judges cannot be expected to control, so we highly recommend reviewing each other’s army rosters after the game as a sign of politeness and good sportsmanship.

5.0 Registration
At the start of the day there will be a judges table where you will be required to submit your rosters, your entry fee. You will then also be given a tournament form on which your results will be recorded.

5.1 Opponents
In the first round your opponents will be randomly generated, in subsequent rounds opponents will depend on your current ranking. Your team will not face the same opponents twice in the tournament. Other participants and onlookers are not allowed to interfere in a battle they do not participate in themselves, in any way. If such a situation does happen to occur, please consult a judge immediately.

6.0 Determining the winner
The team that scored most victory points in a battle will be the winner of the battle (as determined through the rules for victory points on pages 102 and 103 of the core rulebook). One exception is made for captured banners, which (due to the smaller points value of the battles) will only count for 50 additional victory points instead of 100. Also, as both armies in a team will have to choose a general, opposing teams can earn 100VP twice for killing an enemy general. For each scenario there can be different conditions which may award additional victory points (See 10: Scenarios). When a team concedes a battle, this will result in their opponents winning the game by a Massacre.

6.1 Using an illegal army
When you are caught using an illegal army, you will be asked to change your army if necessary on the day itself. In addition, your team will suffer a point penalty for each round you have used the illegal army. The amount of points deducted from your team score will depend on how influential and serious the error in the army list was and will be determined by the judges at that exact time. If the error is serious and disruptive enough the judges may also decide to disqualify you from winning awards and award the opponents you have faced so far with additional command points.

7.0 Timetable

8.0 Winning at the Tournament
The team that scored the highest amount of total command points and army points will be awarded the Best Generals Award. If there are enough participants, it can also become possible for the judges to award a prize for second and/or third place.
The judges will vote amongst themselves to decide the winner of the Best Army Award, awarded to the single player who has the most nicely painted/converted army.
They will also thusly determine the winner of the Fluff Award, awarded to the team that entered with the most unusual/funny/fluffy army.

WYSIWYG (0 – 1– 2)
0) Several major elements of the armies do not obviously represent what is listed in the rosters.
1) Some minor elements in the armies are not entirely wysiwyg.
2) The army visually represents (almost) exactly what is listed in the army roster.
Painting (0 – 2 – 4)
0) Significant parts of the combined army are not painted to tabletop standard.
2) One army is painted to a high standard, or both armies are painted to tabletop standard.
4) At least one army is painted to a high standard and one army is painted to tabletop standard.
Coherency (0 – 2)

2) Both armies are painted and modeled in a way that gives each army a personal and coherent feel.
Conversions (0 – 2)
0) The combined army has no conversions or conversions that are very minor.
2) The combined army contains several appropriate conversions.

10 Scenarios
Round 1 – Pitched Battle
This Scenario does not have an objective. It follows all the normal rules for a pitched battle, as can be found on page 2 and 3 of the warhammer rulebook.

Round 2 – Capture
The scenario follows all the rules for a pitched battle as stated above, with a number of adjustments:
• Three objective markers mounted on either a 40 mm square or round base are placed on the center-line of the table, one in the middle, and the other 2 each 12-inches from the sides.
• All normal victory points scored are halved (rounded up).
• The team that captures the center objective scores an additional 250 victory points. The other 2 objectives are worth 125 points each.
• An objective is captured by the team that has a non fleeing unit of at least unit strength 5 within 6 inch of the objective at the end of the battle. If both teams have a unit of at least unit strength 5 within 6 inch of the objective the team that has their unit closest to the objective captures the objective.
