General Notes
We are playing with rules & Lists from the COK 2025 book (with the exception of Command
Dice – see below) which are current in the Mantic Companion App -
https://companion.manticgames.com/
The event is specifically designed for new players. Friendly and thoughtful behaviour is
expected. We aim for everyone attending to have as much fun as possible, and we are all part
of making that happen. This event is welcoming and inclusive. Anti-social or unfriendly
behaviour is not wanted. Many in attendance have built and painted their first ever army, and
this event is a celebration of their achievement.
We have support from Mantic for some Mantic vouchers.
The available prizes are below. Prize Voucher amount Best painted army Trophy Best painted
army -New Player Trophy + QH! voucher
There will be awards and a raffle for Mantic Vouchers
IMPORTANTLY, please submit balanced, new player friendly lists. If you wish to bring an
additional, more competitive list, please feel free to bring it as well. Communication is the key. If
you and your opponent are both experienced players then you may discuss it before a game
and mutually agree to play with “unbalanced” lists. Newer players should only play against
balanced lists. Challenges for the first round, will be accepted (please contact the organisers).
Otherwise, we will attempt to match players according to experience for the first round, with the
intention of making sure everyone attending has as much fun as possible. Painted armies are
availableF to borrow if you don’t have one, but please give us as much notice as possible if you
would like to borrow an army. You can let us know a preference and we will do our best to
accommodate you.
What to Bring -Three printed copies of your list(s)
- Dice, widgets, tape measure, tokens required to play the scenarios listed below (if you are

Android).
Impassable terrain- height 6
forests- height 6

Terrain will be pre-placed. If you believe that something may have been moved from the
previous game, please ask the organiser. The goal is that each board should be balanced and
fair i.e. that the roll off to pick sides should not have a significant impact on the result of the
game.
No withdrawal. No Command Dice.
If you have any rules disagreement, or any type of disagreement, please immediately contact
the organiser. In rare edge cases where the rules are unclear we will resolve issues with a D6 (1

Scenario 1: Loot P72
Before rolling of to choose sides, place three Loot Counters on the centre line of the board. One
must be placed in the exact centre of the board (or as close to it along the centre line as
possible), and then players place one more each, rolling of to see who places theirs first. Loot
Counters cannot be placed within 12” of each other or within 3” of Blocking Terrain.
Victory Points are awarded at the end of the game as follows:
1 Victory Point for each Loot Counter you hold.
Scenario 2: Dominate P72 (MODIFIED Scoring, please read)
At the end of the game, add up the NUMBER OF UNITS that have the majority of their footprint
within EIGHT ” of the centre of the playing area. That is your Victory Point score. Your opponent
does the same and you compare scores. (we have changed this from the book, and the range
of the scoring zone is shorter than the book).
Scenario 3: Salt the Earth P74
Before rolling of to choose sides, place one Objective Marker in the exact centre of the board
and then the players take it in turns placing Objective Markers until both players have each
placed three Objective Markers. Roll of to see who places the first Objective.
After a player has completed their Turn, they can choose to destroy any Objective Markers
which they control (except for the Central Objective). Repeat this process at the end of each of
the player’s Turns until the end of the game. Destroyed Objective Markers are removed from
play and have no influence on the rest of the game.
Victory Points are awarded at the end of the game as follows:
1 Victory Point for each Objective Marker still in play that you control.
