News - Big news update!

(Permalink)Belgian national championship X-Wing - Big news update!
2017-10-16 22:15

We have managed to expand our play area to accommodate up to 180 players! This means that anyone who was uncertain of a spot can be sure of a space in the Nationals!

For the play area, we are supplying MDF wood plates measuring exactly 3’ by 3’. This means that you are not required to bring your own play mat, particularly useful for players who are coming overseas, flying in, or otherwise traveling a long way.
However, you can still bring and use your own mat to play on if you so wish, provided these mats are FFG mats and tournament legal. Due to tournament regulations, mats that are not from FFG cannot be used.
The tables used provide enough space next to the MDF plates for placing cards, tokens, squad lists, etc.

Thanks to Alex Watkins, we have been able to secure extra prize support! There are an extra 64 copies of the Howlrunner card, which means the Top 64 prize is now Top 128! In addition, we have exciting prize support for Hangar Bay side events.

Side events will be Hangar Bay matches on demand for groups of 8 players, each consisting of three rounds. Information on how to play Hangar Bay can be found in the time table found below. Each participant in the Proving Grounds matches will receive a full art double sided Lothal Rebel and Baron of the Empire pilot card! Win two rounds and receive another copy of this card. Win three victories and win a plastic spot glossed version of Lothal Rebel/Baron of the Empire!

An estimated time table and rules for Hangar Bay can be found here:

With regards to Guns for Hire, the release date for Europe is still uncertain. For this reason, we are hesitant to make a call on its legality for the tournament as of yet. Squad lists sent in before 30/10 will not be considered final. On 01/11, the legality of Guns for Hires and all the cards and ships in it will be known, at which point the call for the tournament will be made and final versions of squad lists can be sent in.

As a general reminder, anyone who has not yet made their payment to enter in the Nationals should do so as soon as possible. If we do not have your payment prior to the day of the tournament, you will not be able to enter!
