What The Duck Cup 2023 - Information and Rules

Game 1: Strolling around with a duck cart (payload mini)
Setup: Starting with the blue player, each player places a bomb cart within their deployment zone.
Each player controls the bomb cart that they place.
Then, starting with the blue player, each player marks a piece of terrain by placing 1 objective token matching their opponent's color on that terrain piece.
At the end of each round, starting with the blue player, each player's bomb cart may pivot and then perform a speed-1 move if there are more friendly unitleaders than enemy unitleaders at range 1.
Victory: At the end of the game, each player gains 1 victory token if their bomb cart is at range 2 of the terrain piece marked with an objective token matching their color, 2 victory tokens if it is at range 1 of that
terrain piece, or 3 vicotry tokens if it is in base contact with that terrain piece.
Deployment: Battle Lines 2
Condition: Clear Conditions 2

Game 2: Safe the ducks (Recover the supplies mini)
Setup: Place 1 unclaimed duck (objective token) on the center of the battlefield.
Then, starting with the blue player, each player places another duck (objecitve token) on the battlefield.
Each duck must be placed beyond range 1 of any other objective token and beyond range 1 of each deployment zone.
All troopers gain ->claim.
Victory: At the end of the game, each player gains 2 victory tokens for each objective token that is claimed by 1 of their units.
Deployment: Meeting Engagement
Condition: War Weary 2

Game 3: Hijacking ducks (Hostage exchange mini)
Setup: Each player choses 1 corps unit that they control.
Then, starting with the blue player, each player places their opponent's chosen unit on, or as near as possible to, the center of the battlefield and performs a speed-1 move with that unit.
Then each player places a duck (claimed objective token) in base contact with the unit leader of their chosen unit and equips a hostage upgrade card to that unit.
During round 1, units cannot use the detonate keyword.
All troopers gain ->claim.
When a unit claims a duck, it equips a hostage upgrade card.
Victory: At the end of the game, each player gains 1 victory token for each duck that is claimed by a unit they control.
Then, each player gains 1 victory token for each Duck that is within their deployment zone and claimed by a unit they control.
Deployment: Flanking Positions
Condition: Improvised Defenses

1. 3 Rounds / 120 min per game

2. One 500 point list throughout the day.
It is not mandatory, to bring unit cards, but a sheet of paper with your list would be great.
Units don't have to be painted.
Custom units are allowed (like 3d printed etc.)

8. Setup
1. Establish battlefield and gather components: Already done.
2. Declare terrain: It is important to determine what the terrain effects will be before the game begins. Players should briefly discuss each piece of terrain that is on the battlefield and come to a consensus on its cover type and other characteristics.
3. Place terrain: Already done.
4. Select player color and sides: The player whose army has the lowest point total chooses to be either the red player or the blue player. Then, the blue player chooses one of the four table edges and sets their army near that edge. If both players’ armies have the same point total, roll a die or flip a coin to determine which player chooses to be red or blue.
5. Resolve objective and condition cards: Resolve any setup instructions on the objective card, then resolve any setup instructions on the condition card.
6. Deploy units: as usual.
