News2019-11-14 10:586daagse Gent Hello players, It has just come to our attention that the Hyperspace Trial will be simultaneous with a 6-day indoor cycling event at a nearby venue (6Daagse in 't Kuipke). This is very likely to put a shortage on parking spaces. Your best bet will be to try to find a parking spot in the Ledeganckstraat (university and college facilities nearby) or at the parking for St. Pietersplein (St. Peter's square) which is paying. written by OutpostGent 2019-11-13 10:40 Tournament structure revision Hello players, Many of you have pointed out that starting at 12h00 and playing 5 rounds of swiss with a top 8 cut will lead to a very late day. We realise this is a potential problem for many, especially those players from the Netherlands, Germany and France who are traveling a long way to participate. Unfortunately it is not feasible to start earlier in the day due to the store's opening hours (as well as our TO working an evening shift until 3AM the night before). This is why we have decided to shorten the tournament structure. We will still start at 12h00, but the tournament will be locked as 4 rounds of swiss with a top 4 cut. With a week to go until the Hyperspace trial, we would like to update you on the tournament plans. The tournament will follow the advanced structure as per FFG regulations. With the current number of participants, we're looking at 5 rounds of swiss and a top 8 cut. There will be a brief lunch break after round 2. As a reminder, we ask you to bring a playmat if you have one, as the store is unable to provide enough mats for all players. We also ask you to not bring your own drinks. Bringing your own food is fine. As additional prize support over the Hyperspace Qualifier kit, we are adding the full price of a player's entry fee in retail X-Wing ships for each participant over 16 players! That means from the 17th player and on, every entry adds 18 euro worth of ships to be raffled to a random participant!
